Not that I don't. 2019. acrylic, gouache, gloss medium, faux rocks, mylar, red nail, painters tape. Installation views.
It’s not that I don’t belong, it’s that I feel like I don’t. Points of intersecting lines, things, feelings, and identities. Situated between two notions of race, I am questioning the role of the grid and attempting to break hegemonic modes of seeing and thinking about identity through abstraction. I am navigating my biracial identity, pin-pointing the internal experiences and complex feelings; representing the dichotomy in their truest form.
